Earth Day Community Cleanup

As part of International Earth Day, Conservation Lac Brome invites the local community to come together for a large-scale community cleanup of ditches within the Brome Lake watershed on April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

One of CLB’s main areas of focus is stormwater management. The health of a lake is directly linked to that of its watershed. Pollutants carried by rainwater (waste, sediments, and contaminants) travel through ditches and waterways before ultimately flowing into the lake. Water quality is therefore not only the responsibility of lakeshore residents, but of everyone living near a ditch, stream, or any other watercourse connected to Brome Lake.

Through this collective cleanup effort, we aim to take concrete action to reduce pollution at its source, improve water quality, and raise awareness within the community about the important role each person can play in protecting our lake.

To make participation easy, CLB will provide garbage bags, gloves, and a limited number of reflective vests. Just dress comfortably for being outdoors and walking around nearby neighborhoods. A container will also be available at the Carke Terrace on April 25, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., for disposing of collected bags.
